‘Shot for Treason’
Donald Trump Delegate Al Baldasaro: Hillary Clinton Should Be ‘Shot for Treason’
Donald Trump delegate and Republican New Hampshire state representative Al Baldasaro called for Hillary Clinton’s execution during a Tuesday, July 29, interview on the Jeff Kuhner Show.
“She is a disgrace for the lies that she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi,” Baldasaro, 59, angrily said. “She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting backup security.”
“Something’s wrong there … This whole thing disgusts me. Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason,” the politician added. Later in the interview, he labeled the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, 68, a “piece of garbage.”
When the New York Daily Newsreached out to Baldasaro for comment, he told the outlet on Wednesday, July 20, that if Clinton were tried for treason, the law would mandate her death.
“When you give up (military) people's names, you’re putting people's lives in danger,” he stated, directly referencing Clinton’s email scandal, in which she sent confidential information over a poorly protected private server during her tenure as the secretary of state. As previously reported on July 5, FBI Director James Comey announced that the agency would recommend that no charges be brought against the former first lady after a yearlong investigation.
“If she was found guilty (of treason) in a court of law, that’s what would happen,” Baldasaro told the Daily News, referring to his previous comment about Clinton being killed by gunfire. “She’s not above the law.”
Despite Baldasaro's belief that Clinton ought to be “shot for treason,” the New York Daily News points out that the Constitution describes treason as “levying war” against the United States and providing “aid and comfort” to enemies. Furthermore, there is no specified punishment for the crime. The Secret Service is looking into Baldasaro’s comments now.
This is not the first time Baldasaro has made headlines for something he’s said. In December 2015, he body-shamed Democratic New Hampshire state representative Amanda Bouldin, who expressed her opposition to a bill that forbids women from showing their nipples or breasts in public.
“No disrespect, but your nipple would be the last one I would want to see,” Baldasaro wrote to Bouldin on her Facebook page. "You want to turn our family beach's into a pervert show (sic).”
