Pelosi: FBI and Congress must investigate Trump-Russia connections in wake of Flynn resignation

Republicans are frantically trying to brush off questions about the larger implications of Michael Flynn’s resignation as national security advisor—chief among them, what did Donald Trump know and when did he know it—but House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi isn’t having it. She’s calling for both the FBI and Congress to investigate:
“The truth and consequences of the Russia connection: the American people deserve to know the full extent of Russia’s financial, personal and political grip on President Trump and what that means for our national security.“Flynn’s resignation is a reflection of the poor judgment of President Trump and demands answers to the grave questions over the President’s involvement. By what authority did Flynn act and to whom did he report?“The FBI must accelerate its investigation of the Russian connection with the Trump Administration, and Congress must call for a bipartisan, independent, outside commission to fully investigate Russia’s influence on the Administration and the election.”
With the chair of the House Intelligence Committee less concerned about what Flynn did than about how the public found out about it, definitely don’t hold your breath. But it’s unlikely that the Russia revelations stop with Flynn, so even Republicans may eventually be forced to pretend they care.
