Pogba in, but no Ibrahimovic in Lingard's Man Utd 5-a-side team

The England international has gone with flair and pace in his squad, although he has found no space for himself in a dream Old Trafford selection

Jesse Lingard has found a place for close friend Paul Pogba in his Manchester United 5-a-side team, but a number of high-profile team-mates have been overlooked.

With a wealth of talent to choose from at Old Trafford, whittling down a star-studded squad to just five selections is no easy task.

Jose Mourinho has international performers aplenty at his disposal, with big money spent assembling a side still competing on four fronts this season.

Lingard was asked by FourFourTwo to pick the cream of the crop as part of their ‘Team-mates’ feature, with the England international favouring youth and creativity.

He said: “At the back, I’d pick Daley [Blind]. I think you need a player at the back who is going to be composed and assured on the ball.

“Midfielder? I’d say Pogba. You need that bit of flair in midfield. I’ll say Ander [Herrera] as well, he’s got a bit of bite to him and you need that energy and aggression.

“Marcus Rashford up front. He’s got the skills up top to beat a player and score.

“In net, obviously David de Gea.”

Lingard opted to overlook himself, with there no place for him in either a midfield or attacking berth.

He also could find no room for Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Wayne Rooney, despite the Swede being United’s top marksman this season and the Red Devils skipper now the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
