Manchester United player ratings: Rashford, Pogba and Blind positives in win over Hull
Manchester United player ratings: Rashford, Pogba and Blind positives in win over Hull
- BY ROB DAWSON
Have a look at how the Man Utd players rated as they played Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.
Paul Pogba started for Manchester United at Hull on Saturday night. |
De Gea
Had very little to do apart from watch one or two free-kicks fly wide of his post. Needed the odd catch and kick to stay warm. 6
Valencia
Fast becoming United's key attacking outlet. Will face bigger tests defensively but good going forward again. 7
Shaw
Saved United a goal in the first half by out-muscling Robert Snodgrass at the back post. Defended well all night. 7
Bailly
Solid at the back but dived in once or twice when he didn't need to. Can be happy with a clean sheet in challenging conditions. 7
Blind
Had a good first half, especially in the air as Hull tried to test him against Abel Hernandez. Had a very good game in difficult conditions. 8
Fellaini
Walked a tightrope after being booked in the first half but was disciplined afterwards. Another quietly important performance in midfield. 7
Pogba
United's best player in the first half when he drove them forward. Quieter after the break but still covered a lot of ground and looked most likely to score before Rashford's goal. 8
Mata
Worked hard on the right but it wasn't a surprise when he was replaced with Rashford midway through the second half. 6
Martial
Barely got a kick in the first half and last action was a limp shot that skidded well wide. Looks tired after a long summer with France. 5
Rooney
Lucky to stay on when Mourinho brought on Rashford and Mkhitaryan in the second half but did really well to create the chance for Rashford to score the winner. 6
Ibrahimovic
Had two chances to put United in front in the first half. A frustrating evening when nothing he did seemed to come off. 6
Substitutes
Mkhitaryan (for Martial, 57): Injected some much-needed energy. 7
Rashford (for Mata, 69): Scored a very late winner and impressed. 8
Smalling (for Rooney, 90): Too late to mark.
Not used: Romero, Young, Schneiderlin, Herrera.
