Mo Farah Clinches Second Rio Gold For Team GB

His performance in Rio means he has won two gold medals in two successive Olympic Games - four in total

Mo Farah stormed to victory in the men’s 5,000m, becoming the first man in 40 years to win two distance golds in two successive Olympic Games

"I can't believe it," he said after the race.

"It's been incredible. I just want to go home now and see my beautiful kids."

The 33-year-old began the race behind the pack, slowly moving past his rivals as the laps passed.

Team GB has 66 medals, surpassing its London 2012 haul of 65

He burst through in the final stages to win in 13 minutes, 3.30 seconds, ahead of Hagos Gebrhiwet of Ethiopia and Bernard Lagat of the United States.

It is Great Britain's biggest Olympic medal haul in over a century.

It was Eilidh Doyle, Anyika Onuora, Emily Diamond and Christine Ohuruogu of the women's 4x400 relay team who pushed Great Britain over the line, winning a bronze medal moments after Farah's victory.

Bianca Walkden won bronze in the 67kg taekwondo category

Earlier, boxer Nicola Adams and canoeist Liam Heath added a gold medal each to GB's medals cabinet.

Adams' victory against French fighter Sarah Ourahmoune makes her the first woman ever to retain an Olympic flyweight title.

Bronze medals also came from taekwondo fighter Bianca Walkden and Vicky Holland in the women's triathlon.

With the Games ending on Sunday, there are still chances for Great Britain to win more medals, with Londoner Joe Joyce through to the super-heavyweight final.
